Before you decide on your first market, you should know all the markets that exist on Kalshi.
All the markets that exist on Kalshi can be found via web on the Markets page, or on the app via the Explore button.
Kalshi's markets can also be found on the home page, which spotlights markets that are popular with other traders, have been recently listed, or are closing soon.
You can also search for markets by using keywords to either find a specific market or a category of markets you are interested in trading.
When picking your first market, consider your reason for trading on Kalshi. If you’re here to trade on your convictions, look for markets that you have a strong opinion about, are related to topics you find personally interesting, or have domain expertise in.
If you're here to hedge risk, focus on categories related to your existing investments and financial exposures. For example, if you have student loans, look into the Supreme Court student loan forgiveness market. If you're an influencer and rely on Tiktok as a stream of income, look into the Tiktok ban market.
Once you’ve decided on a market to participate in, it’s important to have all the information you need to make an informed trade.
Scrolling on the market page will reveal the Rules section, which contains the Open Date, Close Date, Payout Date, the source that will be used to settle the contract, and other important pieces of information to keep in mind when trading.
