Why did I only receive part of my deposit?
When you make a bank deposit, Kalshi may credit a portion of the funds immediately so you can start trading right away. The remaining amount will be available once the bank transfer fully settles, which typically takes 1-3 business days.
For example, if you deposit $200, you might see $150 available immediately with the remaining $50 released after settlement. The exact split depends on your account history and the deposit amount. This immediate crediting allows you to start trading right away, even though the actual withdrawal from your bank may occur 1-3 business days later.
You can track the status of your deposit on the Manage funds page.
Note: If your bank transfer fails or is returned after immediate funds were credited, the credited amount will be deducted from your balance. Make sure your bank account has sufficient funds to cover the full deposit.
What determines whether your deposit qualifies for immediate funding?
Every ACH deposit goes through a quick automated evaluation before any portion is credited up front. The evaluation considers details about the specific transfer and the bank account it's coming from, including your balance with that bank and your prior deposit and trading activity on Kalshi. The full set of inputs isn't disclosed for individual transfers.
The exact immediate-funding amount for a specific deposit is shown on the deposit review screen before you submit it.
The check runs fresh each time, so results aren't permanent. The available amount may change over time as the underlying signals evolve. Accounts with a consistent track record of completed, non-reversed deposits tend to see immediate funding more often; recent reversals or attempts that look unlike your usual deposit behavior reduce the chance.
Need access right away? A debit card deposit usually credits instantly.
