Deactivating Account
Account deactivation stops all trading activity and access to your account. Before you can deactivate, three requirements need to be met:
Sell any position - close out all open positions
Cancel any resting order - cancel any open orders
Withdraw Kalshi funds - your balance must be $0.00
Once all three are zeroed, go to Account & security in your settings, scroll to the bottom, and tap Deactivate your account. You can also go directly here. You will see a confirmation screen showing the three requirements (each with a green check when complete) - tap Confirm to finish.
Reactivating Account
To reactivate your account, simply log back in using your existing credentials.
Important: if you have forgotten your password, you will not be able to reset it on a deactivated account - the standard password reset flow is unavailable until the account is reactivated. In that case, please reach out to support at kalshi.com/contact and our team will help you regain access.
Deleting your Account
Kalshi is a federally regulated financial exchange. We are required by law to collect and retain certain records of your personal information to verify your identity and for compliance and security purposes, just like any other financial exchange. Because of this, account records cannot be fully deleted. Account deactivation stops all trading activity and access to your account, but records must remain for regulatory compliance. We fully respect your privacy, and your data is used strictly for regulatory purposes as needed.
