Funding your margin account
To trade perpetual futures, you must fund your margin account. You have two options:
Deposit directly to your margin account via ACH, wire, or other supported payment methods.
Transfer funds from your existing Kalshi predictions account balance in the Portfolio tab.
Transferring between your predictions and margin accounts
You can move funds between your predictions balance and your margin account at any time from the Portfolio tab. Transfers are processed promptly.
Margin currently allocated to open positions cannot be transferred until those positions are closed.
Withdrawing from your margin account
To withdraw, go to the Portfolio tab, select your perpetuals account, and choose Withdraw. You can send funds to your bank account or move them back to your predictions balance.
Only funds not allocated to open positions are available for withdrawal.
What happens during exchange maintenance?
Kalshi performs scheduled maintenance on Thursdays from approximately 3:00 AM to 5:00 AM ET. During this window:
The exchange is offline and new orders cannot be placed or modified.
Existing open positions remain open and are not automatically closed.
The mark price does not change during maintenance.
Funding payments scheduled during maintenance are processed when the exchange comes back online.
